I do like BF games, but, it suffers from the same issues that most of them have suffered from - lack of any real co-ordination when you're playing with randoms. Also, the weapon balancing REALLY needs looked at IMO - higher ranks gets much better weapons and armor which makes it much more difficult to kill them.
At least they've dropped in a Deathmatch mode, which is good, although too many little clusters of snipers on the very edges of the maps makes it infuriating at times, and having 4 teams of 4 means you really need team players.
It is a better game than MW2 in general, I'd not rate it as highly as BF:MC, CoD:WaW or CoD:MW though
I agree with the unlocks, while they are nice occasionally, it doesn't fit well with this type of game as much as a CoD. Weapons are one thing, but things like body armor? I ran into this for the first time last night and an entire clip from a pistol will not take them down. Granted head shots do but this is more difficult when firing at a distance.
I think they should have just kept the unlocks to weapons only like in the first one. I also agree that while the Bad Company games are great, they can't compare to Modern Combat. That is still my favorite Battlefield for consoles, the only plus that Bad Company has is the destruction. I don't know why they felt they needed to streamline the game for the casual audience seeing as this game was never casual to begin with.
I don't think anyone should be left out of the experience, but if you want to play it, learn it, not everything shoule come so easy. If I want that I'll go back to CoD, it's better for the quick play style.
I also wish they would bring back a team speak function to BC. I hate not being able to warn someone about to get knifed in the back when they are not in my squad. At the end of the day it's all about the map size to me, I love the large sandbox style maps of Battlefield.
